Get to know the professional cast, musicians, designers and staff of TheatreWorks Florida's The World Goes 'Round.


WHO’S WHO IN THE CAST


Jennifer Roman (WOMAN 1): Jennifer is thrilled to be sharing the stage with this amazing cast. In addition to being the TheatreWorks Florida Production Manager, Jenn has also performed in their productions of Legally Blonde: The Musical (Central Florida Debut), Nunsense, Nunsense 2 and Little Shop of Horrors. Jenn earned her BFA in Music Theatre from Elon University and has performed on cruise ships, in theme parks and regional theaters. She has also made some appearances in television and film. Favorite roles include Lady Macbeth in Macbeth, Aldonza/Dulcinea in Man of La Mancha, Anita in West Side Story, Rosie in Bye, Bye Birdie, Muriel Eubanks in Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, and Matron Mama Morton in Chicago. Jenn recently said “Yes” to her main man Hutch, and thanks him for supporting her crazy schedule. And a huge Thank You to my family – I love you all!

Molly Schoolmeester (WOMAN 2): Molly is honored to be back on stage with Theatreworks Florida for her fourth appearance. She is a BFA recipient in Performing Arts, Vocal Performance and Dance from SCAD, and a certified Actor Combatant with the Society of American Fight Directors. She was recently seen, in the infamous before times, as "Pippi" in The Great American Trailer Park Musical with Theater West End. Some of her other favorite roles include Stella Kowalski (A Streetcar Named Desire), Darlene Seward (The Great American Trailer Park Christmas Musical), Mercutio (Romeo and Juliet), Milady/Constance (The Three Musketeers), Woman #2 (in both Songs For a New World and Edges), and The Mad Hatter (Alice in Wonderland). The two roles she is most proud to hold however, is "Daughter" to Marla and Rick, the most supportive parents she could've ever asked for, and "Wife" to Henry, her best friend and life partner.

Hannah McGinley Lemasters (WOMAN 3): Hannah is thrilled to be performing with TheatreWorks Florida for the first time! She has been performing since she could speak and is thrilled to finally settle into an age where Kander and Ebb lyrics sound natural (although everyone loves a 5-year-old singing "Class", right?)! Over her past seven years in the Orlando area, she has been fortunate enough to appear on many stages. Favorite roles include Rona Lisa Peretti (25th... Spelling Bee), Mrs. Wormwood (Matilda), Calliope (Xanadu), and Smitty (H2$). Huge thanks to the cast, crew, and her friends/family for their grace and assistance in learning all these lyrics. "Gee, Whee, Wow! How lucky can you get?"

Michael Knight (MAN 1): Michael is a writer/actor/director local to Orlando Florida. He grew up in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan and studied theater and education at Central Michigan University. Michael has been a part of the Central Florida Theater community since 2012. Michael is a full-time actor at Universal Studios and has worked in entertainment in every major theme park in Orlando. His passion is in creating and molding new art and has spent the last 10 years writing and directing new plays, as well as having the honor of helming shows for local Orlando theaters. He’s thrilled to be back ON stage with TheatreWorks Florida, which was one of the first companies to give him a shot years ago, and is honored to have been given this one as well.

Ryan Mobley (MAN 2): Ryan is honored to be returning to the stage after a 4-year hiatus and couldn’t be happier to be making this his third show with TheaterWorks Florida. When Ryan isn’t flying the friendly skies, he’s a stunt actor and singer for Universal Orlando and Disney World. Some of his favorite roles include: Farquad in Shrek the Musical, Warner in Legally Blonde: The Musical, and Billy in Chicago. As Astra Per Apera.


WHO’S WHO ON STAFF


Scott A. Cook (ARTISTIC PRODUCER/DIRECTOR): Originally from New York, Scott has been producing, directing and choreographing musical theatre and live stage shows nationally and internationally for over 38 years. He is currently the Artistic Producer of TheatreWorks Florida. In 2010 & 2012, TheatreWorks Florida's productions of The Great American Trailer Park Musical and Little Shop of Horrors won many top awards at the Orlando International Fringe Theatre Festival including "Best In Fest". His credits include: Rock Of Ages (Central Florida regional premiere), Hands On A Hardbody (Central Florida regional premiere), Schoolhouse Rock Live!, Rent, Next To Normal, The Wedding Singer, Sweeney Todd, Winter Wonderettes, Nunsense, Legally Blonde: The Musical (Central Florida regional premiere), Little Shop of Horrors, The Great American Trailer Park Musical, Parade, Plaid Tidings, Cats, Big River, Footloose, Cabaret, Three Penny Opera, Nuncrackers, Deathtrap, Jekyll and Hyde, Meat Street, 42nd Street, A Chorus Line, Anything Goes, Blood Brothers, Brigadoon, Company, Dames At Sea, Damn Yankees, Eating Raoul: The Musical, Forever Plaid, Godspell, Grease, Guys and Dolls, The Rocky Horror Show, The Taffetas and The Will Roger's Follies. Scott's original show design and concept works for the stage include: Journey Into Jungle Book, Future Fantasia and Tapestry for the Walt Disney World Company; Stories of Christmas for Universal Studios Florida. Scott is currently an adjunct professor for Florida Southern College Dept. of Theatre & Dance.

David Foust (MUSIC DIRECTOR/KEYBOARD/CONDUCTOR): David is excited to be involved with these excellent performers on this exciting project that is so entertaining and creative. David has a Masters in Music with emphasis on Music Composition. He teaches Voice in the Theatre Department of Florida Southern College in Lakeland, Florida. He owns Star Fine Arts Studio in Winter Park as well as Star Productions, Inc. David won the Broadway World Award for “Best Musical Direction – Professional” for his work on “Sweeney Todd, Demon Barber of Fleet Street”. Recently he has been the Musical Director for Cupid and Psyche at the Orlando Fringe Festival, which won the Patron’s Pick Award. He has enjoyed working on many of the fine productions with TheatreWorks Florida since 2008. David has enjoyed the pleasure of working with many professional performers over his career and is very excited to continue working with the incredibly talented and creative TheatreWorks Florida production team.

Christopher Payen (ARTISTIC CHOREOGRAPHER): Chris, a graduate from the University of Central Florida with a BA in Theatre/Dance minor degree, is thrilled to be the choreographer for The World Goes ‘Round! Other choreography credits include: Big: The Musical (Garden Theatre), Something Rotten and The Secret Garden (Montverde Academy Theatre Conservatory), Dreamgirls (Wayne Densch Performing Arts Center) and Godspell (Living Drama Theatre). Chris has also been a featured choreographer/dance assistant for A Raisin in the Sun (Garden Theatre), I Dance Orlando Festival (ME Theatre), Rock On! (CFCArts) and Mic Check: Vocal Performance Artist Showcase (Sunrise Civic Center). Chris thanks God and his family for their love and support and a very special thank you to every cast and crew member he has had the pleasure of collaborating with on this amazing production!

James F. Beck (SET & PRODUCTION DESIGN): Jim is the Designer/Technical Director and Department Chair of the Department of Theatre Arts at Florida Southern College. He has been designing and directing for various theatre companies as well as teaching at the college level since 1988. Jim served as resident designer for The Misery Loves Company and The Kenley Players, in Cleveland Ohio, where he designed for Tony Randall, Loni Anderson, Barbara Eden and Judy Kaye, among others, before coming to Florida in 1996. Since coming to Florida, he has designed and directed for several Central Florida theatres. Jim received his BA in Theatre from Hiram College in 1984 and an MFA in Production Design and Technology from Ohio University in 1986. After completing coursework in the doctoral program in theatre history and criticism at the University of Missouri in 1988, he began teaching and working professionally in scenic and lighting design. Jim has been the Resident Designer for TheatreWorks Florida since its inception in 2007, and received an award for best scenic design for his design of The Great American Trailer Park Musical at the Orlando International Fringe Festival in 2010, as well as the "high tech" award for that production. In addition to his theatrical pursuits, Jim leads an annual Study Abroad trip to the Centre International des Etudes Francaises, in Angers, France.

Michael Darby (LIGHTING DESIGN): Michael is a freelance lighting designer with a BFA in Lighting Design from Florida Southern College. They have designed several shows over their career, but they started with TheatreWorks Florida as a House Manager for various shows in their first and second seasons. They started designing lights for TheatreWorks with Vet Voices: Breakfast in Baghdad and continued with Forever Plaid and Plaid Tidings. In March, Michael will be setting sail on the Norwegian Epic as a Production Lighting Tech. Michael would like to thank Scott and the TheatreWorks Florida cast and creative team for helping them grow as a person and designer.

William Anthony (AUDIO DESIGN): An audio-visual engineer for almost a decade, Joseph has worked countless shows and programs and is excited to bring his experience to Forever Plaid! Having programmed and run shows at The Holy Land Experience, to Pirate's Dinner Adventure, Joseph has done a plethora of theater over the years; The Sound of Music, The Wizard of Oz, and Grease, just to name a few staples. He is often found programming and operating lighting and sound at Orlando churches all around!

Camille McClellan (COSTUME DESIGN): Camille is thrilled to be working with Scott A. Cook again and the merry band of TheatreWorks Florida performers and technicians he has brought together. It is important to us all to be able to provide you with an evening of fine music, performed by these talented actors, live. Camille has been producing costumes for Drama, Musical Theater, Opera and Ballet for most of her professional life. Over the years she has worked for Patel Conservatory-both the Ballet and Theater Departments (Tampa), Miami City Ballet, The JEB Theatre at the STRAZ (Tampa), Lakeland Community Theater and Theatre Winter Haven. Just a few of Camille’s favorite productions have been CATS, LES MISERABLES, RENT, ARISTOCATS, FIDDLER ON THE ROOF, RAGTIME, THE FOREIGNER, OTHELLO, ENEMY OF THE PEOPLE, THE LION IN WINTER, NUTCRACKER BALLET, ALICE IN WONDERLAND, LA BOEME, CARMEN and TOSCA.

Michael Darby (STAGE MANAGER): Michael is making their professional Stage Manager debut with The World Goes ‘Round. Michael has worked in every aspect of technical theatre for over 9 years throughout their high school and college careers as well as various contracts around the country. They are so excited to present this beautiful show to the world and spread its message of hope and sense of community. Enjoy!

Abel Gonzales (TWF COMPANY MANAGER): Abelardo is a 24-year USAF militray veteran. His leadership, management and supervisory skills were most recently applied as Operations Manager, Aerospace Medicine, MacDill AFB, FL. He has a very strong background in management, supervision, training and excels in research & development. He is responsible for creating TheatreWorks Florida’s efficient and effective business and administrative operating procedures and policies, as well as negotiating legal contracts, overseeing company and production budgets and has developed a strong research team.

Jennifer Roman (TWF PRODUCTION MANAGER): Jennifer, a native of New York, brings over 20 years experience both as a performer and behind the scenes as Production Manager and Stage Manager. She earned her BFA in Music Theatre from Elon University in North Carolina. Jennifer spent 7 years in New York performing on cruise ships, theme parks, regional theaters, as well as film and television. While in New York, she worked with The Producer’s Club, The Lark Theatre, Streetsoul Productions and The New York Fringe Festival. She was the Tour Manager for Flying Ship Productions in New Jersey. Jennifer also worked for The Arts Trust of New Jersey where she held many positions including Assistant to the Director and Company Manager. Shortly after moving to Florida, Jennifer joined TheatreWorks Florida in 2008 as Production Stage Manager for Plaid Tidings, Forever Plaid, The Great American Trailer Park Musical, The Marvelous Wonderettes and Winter Wonderettes. She has performed and been the Production Manager in TheatreWorks Florida's productions of Little Shop of Horrors, Legally Blonde: The Musical and Nunsense. She has also occasionally worked for The Garden Theatre as a performer, dance captain and ASM and was Assistant Director of All the Great Books (Abridged) at Moonlight Players in Clermont.

Alexis Senge Johnson (TWF DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR): Alexis is a University of Central Florida alumni with both an undergraduate degree in Management and a Master’s degree in Nonprofit focused on organizational development, grant writing and fundraising. Coupling her many years of professional experience in the production of live entertainment and special events at Walt Disney Parks & Resorts and SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment with her fields of study, Alexis now gives back to her arts community by merging creativity with analytical insight. She has partnered with organizations such as The Henegar Center for the Arts, VSA Arts of Florida – Brevard, Canine Companions for Independence Southeast Region, Rebuilding Together and UCP of Central Florida on a variety of projects that propelled them to new levels.
